An idea made tangible.
Murmelie was born in Montréal in 2026 from a simple desire: to build something that felt like us. Something we could imagine together, shape with our hands and grow with intention.
Where two different sensibilities met, one shared idea emerged: to create objects capable of transforming not only a space, but also the way it feels.

Two perspectives. One intention.
One of us is naturally drawn to interiors, materials, colour, fragrance and the emotions a space can create. The other finds joy in making, precision, processes, systems and the search for the right detail.
Murmelie was born somewhere between the two: between intuition and method, atmosphere and material, what we imagine and what we can actually make.
WHY MURMELIE?
A name conceived like a whisper.
The name Murmelie is inspired by the idea of a whisper — something quiet and soft that can be felt without needing to impose itself. Its sound was then shaped to evoke the delicacy and sensitivity we wanted our objects to carry.
An interior does not need to speak loudly to leave an impression.
THE FIRST GESTURES
A few grams of wax. A few ideas. A lot of curiosity.
Our first candles were poured into tiny glass vessels. We tested fragrances, watched the wax, compared wicks and took note of every detail.
Then came the desire to create the vessel as well. One of our first pieces was a mineral candle vessel cast in Sienna, a tone that gradually became part of the Murmelie palette.
It was still only a series of experiments. But the intention was already there.
CHOOSING TO BEGIN
Making room for the project.
Murmelie was never something we wanted to try simply to “see what happens.” From the beginning, we wanted to build it seriously: learn, test, begin again and improve each detail.
In 2026, Catalinna chose to leave her job to dedicate more time to the project. Building something new asks for compromise, patience and the willingness to give what you want to create a real chance.
We are still at the beginning of this story. That is precisely what makes it meaningful to us.
MONTRÉAL
Our starting point.
Montréal is where we live, where Murmelie was born and where every piece currently takes shape. It is also a city of contrasts: distinct seasons, varied architecture and cultures that meet.
When winter brings us back indoors, when the light changes or a new season begins, the way we experience home changes too. That relationship between space, atmosphere and feeling naturally became part of Murmelie.
MORE THAN OBJECTS
Creating an atmosphere that feels like you.
Murmelie was not born from the idea of filling a home with things. It began with the desire to help create spaces that make you feel something: a place to slow down, a corner that invites focus, a light that makes an evening warmer.
Our objects do not define the atmosphere of an interior. They simply offer the tools to help each person create their own.
WHAT COMES NEXT
And this is only the beginning.
We want Murmelie to grow into an interior design house known for the coherence of its world, the quality of its objects and the intention behind each one.
New materials will come. New objects too. The way we make will continue to evolve. But some things should remain unchanged: curiosity, attention to detail and the desire to create objects that naturally find a place in someone’s life.
Murmelie is being built slowly. And we want to build it to last.
